Maschine Mk3 Hardware becomes unresponsive after launching Pro Tools

As of July 2020, there is an ongoing issue which causes Maschine Mk3 (and Mikro Mk3) hardware to become unresponsive after launching Pro Tools regardless of whether Pro Command MIDI is installed or not.  Native Instruments is working with Avid to resolve this issue, but in the interim, they have provided the following workaround:

  1. Open the following location in Finder:
    Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Avid > Audio > Plug-ins
  2. Remove the following plug-ins from the folder:
    • FB360-Control-ambiX.aaxplugin
    • FB360-Converter-ambiX.aaxplugin
    • FB360-Mix-Loudness-ambiX.aaxplugin
    • FB360-Spatialiser-ambiX.aaxplugin
    • FB360-Stereo-Loudness-ambiX.aaxplugin
  3. Restart your computer

After completing these steps, you should now be able to use your Maschine Mk3 hardware with Pro Tools and therefore with Pro Command MIDI.

Maschine Mk3's pads display incorrect colors when using Pro Command MIDI

An issue with the Maschine Mk3 Controller Editor template provided with Pro Command MIDI 1.4 caused pads 2-16 to stay orange instead of changing to the correct colors for Pro Command MIDI's various functions.  Pro Command MIDI 1.4.1 includes a corrected template for Maschine Mk3 and is now available via the Mac App Store.  After updating to Pro Command MIDI 1.4.1 or newer, please follow these instructions to implement the new template:

  1. Click on the Pro Command MIDI icon in the menu bar
  2. Click on "Setup Guide"
  3. Click the "Continue" button until you arrive at the "1. Install Templates for Controller Editor" page
  4. Click the "Maschine Mk 3" button to export the Pro Command MIDI 1.4.1 Maschine Mk3 template
  5. Click the "Save" button to save the new template in your Controller Editor folder
  6. Continue to follow steps 2-6 in the Setup Guide to load the new template into Controller Editor
N.b. In the Stup Guide's step 6, please be sure to select the "Pro Command MIDI 1.4.1 Maschine MK3.ncm3" file exported in the Setup Guide's step 1.

After completing these steps, your Maschine Mk3's pads should now display the correct colors when using Pro Command MIDI.
